The

computerized accounts using preprinted meal account deposit
envelopes available in the office.
Dubuque
Community Schools Food
and Nutrition Meal Charge Policy
The
policy of the Dubuque Community School District is to offer
lunches to all students within the district. As a student's
account approaches a zero balance or becomes negative, the
following procedure will apply.
Elementary
School
Students may charge any combination of meals up to a negative
balance of $6.00.
When the charge limit is reached a peanut butter sandwich
and milk will be served for lunch and graham crackers and
milk for breakfast until the charges are paid in full. This
lunch or breakfast will not be charged to the student's account.
Payment envelopes indicating the student's account balance,
for those accounts with less than $3.00, will be sent home
with the students on a weekly basis.
PLEASE
NOTE:
If a student is on free and reduced lunch but purchases a
MILK ONLY, they will be charged the FULL $0.50. In order to
qualify for "free lunch" a student must take the "lunch".
If a student brings his/her own lunch and just gets
milk they have to pay for the milk. "Milk only" does not constitute
a reimbursable meal per the government.
Meal
account balances carry over to students' accounts the following
year, even when they leave Lincoln to attend another school
in the District.
There
is a $.50 replacement charge for meal cards that are lost
or damaged.
If
you have any questions, please call Tara Franklin, our Meal
Accounts Coordinator, at the Lincoln Office (552-4057). The
best times to reach her are 8:30-11:30 a.m. and 1:30-3:00
p.m.
