Mrs. Hermsen's Kindergarten class discovered
the importance of
working together as they created four paper quilts this year..
The
traffic light quilt was made in October and helped us to see how
each of
us is unique and different. The gingerbread quilt was made during
the
month of December when we read many Gingerbread stories. The heart
quilt
was made in February around Valentine's Day as we learned about
friendship. The farm quilt was a class project during our Down
on the
Farm unit. Students learned about many farm animals.
Paper quilting is used to teach and reinforce a variety of math
skills. It also allows students to work together as a team to
make
something beautiful.
