Obama Fights to Victory!

right arrow

From Chicago to the White House, our 44th president, Barack Obama, took charge of the United States on January 20th, 2009. Many classes across the nation watched the Presidential Inauguration on television. You may not know this, but Obama actually took the Oath of Office on Lincoln's Bible.
John McCain was the runner-up to be president. Obama and McCain both did their best, tried hard, and represented their parties well. The Inauguration was exciting to watch! Even people in other countries were watching the exciting moments of people saying poems and speeches about President Obama. Did you know that our own principal, Dr. Loewen, actually met and had her picture taken with President Obama? Before Obama was President, he actually held a campaign speech right here at Lincoln!
Though we are done with the election, we'll have to wait until 2012 for another election to arrive!
